Explore the lower section of the Coulonge River from "Rapides Enrages", past the Chutes Diable and L'Ours, through "les rapides Gallinotes" and "Guinette" to the Terry Fox Bridge.
This ambitious 3 day trip offers long stretches of continuous class II-III whitewater perfect for instruction to fine-tune your whitewater paddling technique. During the first day on the water, keep your eyes on the river right shoreline for historic towering pines. The most spectacular of which is over 750 years old. Our second day on the river really concentrates on perfecting your paddling strokes and boat handing in whitewater. The afternoon will feature two of the more challenging rapids in which we'll put your skills to the test. Afterwards, we'll kick back and relax in the soothing natural Jacuzzi of the lower ledge drop in Guinette rapid. Our final day on the river will meander through the lower Poplar rapids eventually transitioning back to civilization. This extended weekend canoe trip captures the spirit of the Coulonge with it's dramatic waterfalls and long, sweeping ledges.

What you should bring with you for your adventureAll your mandatory safety equipment is provided for you. Therefore, all you need to bring with you are some personal items to help make your trip even more enjoyable. We recommend that you bring a pair of shoes or sandals to wear on the river (they will get wet!), 1 pair of shoes for camp, your swimsuit and/or shorts, sunscreen, hat, water bottle, 1 warm sweater (fleece or wool), 1 long pair of pants (quick dry, fleece or wool), 1 waterproof jacket and pants, 1-2 pairs of socks (wool or fleece), personal toiletries, towel, sleeping bag, sleeping pad (thermarest or foam).
